August Employee Spotlight: Anais
What Inspired you to start a career in massage?
I wanted to do something with my life that had meaning and purpose. I wanted to help people. I believe that I don't just have a career. I have a calling. After going to school to become an Esthetician, I realized that I wanted more and that I was capable of more.
What are some of your specific day-to-day responsibilities?
My day-to-day responsibilities are all meant to give my guests the best experience possible. I come in early so that my room is set up, I have my supplies ready, and I study previous notes to learn my guests' preferences. My biggest responsibility is how I treat my guests. It's my job to make people feel heard and safe. I also make self care a priority for myself so that I can give you my best.
What are your massage specialty areas?
I love Therapeutic massage because I can create a custom massage that's specifically tailored to my guests needs and include all my favorite techniques. Hot Stone is fun to do and I love when guests want CBD because it relaxes me too.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is when someone takes the time to leave me a positive review. I love reading kind and thoughtful feedback from those I have had the opportunity to work with.
What made you choose Massage Studio?
First, I wanted to focus solely on massage therapy. I am 41. I want to fully embrace being a massage therapist now when I can. Doing facials and skincare is something I can always do but I don't know how long I can do intense bodywork.
Second, Massage Studio is a long established business with an excellent reputation and presence in our beautiful Hyde Park community. I live in West Tampa which is actually quite close so the easy drive is a bonus. I have worked at a few different spas now. The way Massage Studio operates is so efficient and straightforward. Everyone here seems to genuinely care about their work and I really like my coworkers.
How has Massage Studio supported your career goals?
I appreciate the stability. Work and Life balance is hard. I have a family and they come first. Massage Studio listened to my needs and gave me a schedule that allows me to earn a living and still have time for my life outside of work.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I recently got back into painting and art. I studied art in college. I used to do artwork professionally. I took a long break but I'm back. In July I took home 1st place in a prestigious local art contest. Besides that I love going to the beach and spending time with my family.
