Employee Spotlight: Savanna S.

 
 

Meet Savanna, one of our wonderful massage therapists! We sat down with her to ask a few questions about her experience, her duties at Massage Studio, how she likes to spend time in her personal life, and more.

1. How long have you been in the massage industry, and how long specifically with Massage Studio?

I have been in the massage industry for a little more than 2 years! And that is the same amount of time I have been with Massage Studio. 

2. What inspired you to start a career in massage?

I was inspired by the emotional healing aspect. Nothing warms my heart more than being able to help someone who is in need physically, mentally, and emotionally.

3. What are some of your specific day-to-day responsibilities?

My day-to-day responsibilities as a massage therapist include helping with laundry, maintaining the cleanliness of our rooms, and simply enjoying the presence of my coworkers while also establishing a “client-centered” relationship with the guests! 

4. What are your massage specialty areas? 

I do enjoy all of the modalities of massage, but I feel like therapeutic is my go-to! It’s a wonderful mix of Swedish and Deep Tissue to not only relax your mind and muscles, but to also thoroughly relieve tension in specific areas.

5. What’s your favorite part of your job? 

My favorite part of my job is to help guide the guest to a mind-body connection. Being able to feel their muscles release, simply through breath and specific techniques, is a very rewarding feeling! 

6. What made you choose Massage Studio? 

I had two close friends that worked at the studio, and once I got my license, they really encouraged me to apply! I’m very grateful I did.

7. How has Massage Studio supported your career goals?

Massage Studio has really helped me with my confidence and skills. If I ever feel unsure about a certain technique, no one is hesitant to help me! This has definitely helped me strength-wise.

8. What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I love to exercise and keep my body healthy to the best of my ability! I also enjoy journaling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
