July Employee Spotlight: Jasmin

How long have you been in the massage industry, and how long specifically with Massage Studio?

I’ve been in the massage industry since 2015, and I am new to Massage Studio, I just started here in April.

What inspired you to start a career in massage?

I love helping people and have always been a believer in practicing holistic health to ensure the highest quality of life. I have used yoga, meditation, herbal teas and strive to maintain a healthy diet (80/20 lol) to take care of my mind, body and spirit since I was in my twenties. Because of this, I gravitated to massage therapy as a career choice and it was the best decision I ever made. Being a massage therapist has been the most rewarding experience for me.

What are some of your specific day-to-day responsibilities?

Training new and existing licensed massage therapists on massage studio protocols, training in prenatal massage, hot stones, reflexology and sports massage modalities. Create and host workshops for different massage modalities along with self care/ body mechanics to ensure career longevity for LMTs.

What are your massage specialty areas?

Certified Medical Massage Practitioner, Prenatal Massage and Orthopedic Cupping.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

Being a part of a community with like minded people who share a passion for helping others with massage and bodywork. Collaborating with colleagues to make fun, informative and helpful workshops/ trainings/ activities to help keep fellow massage therapists informed and inspired.

What made you choose Massage Studio?

I love that Massage Studio is a woman owned local business who takes pride in giving attention to details. The staff here is very warm, friendly and the values here align with my own. A passion for helping people relax and find pain relief with massage therapy in a safe space.

How has Massage Studio supported your career goals?

I was also a teacher for massage therapy before I came to Massage Studio and I absolutely loved helping aspiring LMTs gain the skills and confidence they needed to be successful in their careers. Massage Studio has given me an opportunity to continue to give back what I've learned over the years to new and existing licensed massage therapists. I also love the challenge of creating new and exciting workshops that massage therapists find helpful and useful in their day to day work.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love catching a sunset in the park with my dog, Buffy, whenever I can. I enjoy walking trails and going to the pier, either Pier 60 in Clearwater or the Pier in St. Pete. Most of my joy comes from outdoor walks in different scenery. I also enjoy meditation and yoga. And on Sundays I enjoy trying different brunch spots.
