June Employee Spotlight: Lauren

Meet Lauren, Assistant Manager at our Tampa Studio! We have been lucky to have her on our team for almost five years. Soon after realizing corporate cubicle life wasn’t for her, Lauren was attracted to our team for a couple of reasons: we are a small business and we are women owned and operated. The daily interaction with coworkers and clients is by far her favorite part of her job, learning a massage can really relieve stress is a close second!

1.      What is your role?

I am currently the Assistant Manager of the Tampa location. I started as a Guest Coordinator in 2018, then moved up to Lead Guest Coordinator in 2019, then to Assistant Manager in 2021.

2.      How long have you been with Massage Studio?

I have been with Massage Studio for almost 5 years now!

3.      What made you choose Massage Studio?

After working corporate jobs, I knew I wanted to be more than just a number to an employer. I also loved that Massage Studio was a female owned business. Working for a small business was my target, and Massage Studio was exactly what I was looking for in a new employer.

4.      How does the Massage Studio team support you?

This team is amazing! The studio really requires every single employee's help to run an efficient, smooth, calm daily operation and they all do it so well. Everyone is always willing to help in a pinch and we really do have that family feel.

5.      What’s your favorite part of your job?

The daily interaction with both guests and employees is my favorite part. I would not survive sitting alone in a cubicle, staring at a computer for 8 hours a day. Every day here at the studio brings new and exciting challenges, which keeps me on my toes.

6.      Describe your favorite Massage Studio memory.

The Massage Studio 2019 Holiday party was amazing! It was great to see everyone from both studios in the same place, which doesn't happen often. It was a night filled with so much cheer and celebration.

7.      What self-care techniques have you learned since working at Massage Studio?

I’ve learned that taking a deep breath is crucial to my overall self-care. I’ve also learned that the tension in my neck can affect my entire body and that massage therapy can relieve that stress.

8.      What do you like to do outside of work?

I love reading, taking naps with my dog, and going to brunch with my husband!
