September Employee Spotlight: Mary Rose

How long have you been in the massage industry, and how long specifically with Massage Studio?

I obtained my licensed last November and have been with Massage Studio since December 2023.

What inspired you to start a career in massage?

After experiencing burnout as a nurse, I missed the intimate interactions I could have with patients and providing quality care to them as a nurse. Massage therapy gave me an avenue to still provide a healing touch and make a positive difference in peoples lives. It was a leap of faith, and I am happy I took it.

What are some of your specific day-to-day responsibilities?

Provide guests a comfortable and relaxing experience, keeping the space tidy, and help maintaining a positive attitude for my guests and collogues.

What are your massage specialty areas?

I am still relatively new but I enjoy giving therapeutic massage by incorporating many different techniques that include Sports, Thai, muscle energy, myofascial, and many other techniques.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

Getting one on one time with an individual and being able to see a tangible difference I made in someone's life almost immediately.

What made you choose Massage Studio?

Massage Studio provided me with a steady flow of guests and a space to practice as a therapist almost immediately out of school.

How has Massage Studio supported your career goals?

It has provided me a space to practice and learn new or different techniques with other therapists to better my own practice.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy going on dates with my Fiancé, making art (i.e. crocheting, painting, baking), working out, travelling and exploring the continental US, and finding new podcasts to learn about the human condition.
