A Neuromuscular massage is a specialized form of massage that uses trigger point therapy and soft tissue manipulation to treat injuries and overuse of muscles. The treatment gets deep down to the root of the injury and relieves this muscular tension so that proper blood flow can resume to that area, and your muscles can then function normally.

Your Massage

During a Neuromuscular massage, your massage therapist will identify the primary area of pain or discomfort you are experiencing, then will begin massaging the muscles in that region to get circulation flowing and identify trigger points. Once the trigger points have been detected, your therapist will apply alternative degrees of concentrated pressure for 10 to 30 seconds directly on the trigger points. This aids in the release of muscular tension and promotes relaxation, allowing the muscle to get enough blood flow and oxygen. Your therapist will then move on to other associated areas, to find other trigger points that may be the cause of primary pain.

Your Comfort

We want you to be as comfortable as possible during your massage. You will be fully and modestly draped with a sheet/blanket during your massage and your therapist will only uncover the part of the body being worked on, re-draping and tucking for your comfort. You may also request that certain parts of your body not be massaged.

Your Type

People seeking a Neuromuscular massage often suffer from chronic pain and are looking for a consistent treatment option. If you are experiencing pain caused by whiplash, postural distortion, nerve compression, tension or an injury, this type of massage is a highly effective treatment for these issues and injuries. Even if you don’t suffer from any of these issues, this type of massage is a great way to relieve unwanted tension in the body and relieve any discomfort you may be experiencing. Don’t hesitate to let your therapist know during your initial consultation if you have specific areas of concern you would like them to focus on.

Overall, a Neuromuscular massage from Massage Studio offers a tension-relieving and muscle-restoring experience that addresses muscular imbalances and enhances performance while promoting recovery for your body, mind, and soul.
