A Reflexology massage is a specialized form of massage that involves applying pressure to specific points on your feet, hands and ears by your massage therapist using their thumbs and fingers. These points are believed to correspond to the organs and systems in your body and when pressure is applied to certain points, it can relieve pain and promote relaxation.

Your Massage

During a Reflexology massage, your therapist may choose to work on your feet, hands, ears or all, depending on your specific health issues and needs. Some problems respond better to the reinforcement of work on all three. Your therapist will touch and massage different areas of your feet and/or hands and, if requested, your ears. Although the pressure applied will be the same for each area touched, some areas may seem more tender to you than others, indicating there may be an issue or blockage in the corresponding gland, organ or body part.

This technique focuses on the repetition of pressure on nerve endings, which is believed to release the blockages along the circulatory system and can lead to better balance internally. Therapists refer to this as blocked energy along meridian points, which are 12 areas of the body that are believed to be vital to overall health.

Your Comfort

We want you to be as comfortable as possible during your massage. You will remain fully clothed, except for socks and shoes, and may lie down or be seated, depending on your preference and that of your therapist.

Your Type

This non-invasive massage treatment is generally suited for most people. You may benefit from a Reflexology massage if you simply want to relax and destress, or are dealing with more specific health concerns such as anxiety, arthritis or back pain, sinus issues, poor digestion or constipation.

Overall, a Reflexology treatment from Massage Studio benefits the body by providing balance, decreased pain, boosting the immune system and addressing areas such as sinuses, digestion and lungs. It may also provide relief if you have tired, achy feet and the effects can be immediate and long lasting.
